Discover Ireland’s 2nd Biggest City, often referred to as the real capital, which has its own special charm. Living with a local host family allows students to experience the Irish way of life firsthand and immerse themselves in the culture. This includes learning about Irish customs, food, and traditions, as well as practising the language with native speakers. It can provide a more authentic experience than staying in a hotel or dormitory, and can be an opportunity to make lifelong connections with locals.

Living with a host family can provide students with a sense of comfort and security, especially if they are new to the area or feeling homesick. Host families can offer emotional support and guidance, as well as practical advice on navigating the local area. This can help students adjust to their new environment more quickly and feel more at ease during their stay in Cork.

Access to high-speed and reliable internet is crucial for students who need to complete online assignments, conduct research, and stay connected with their peers and family members. Many cafes and public spaces in Cork City offer free Wi-Fi, and many accommodations and student apartments come with Internet access.

Cork City has an extensive public transportation system that includes buses and trains, making it easy for students to travel around the city and explore the surrounding areas. This is especially important for international students who may not have access to a car and need to rely on public transportation to get to class, work, and social events. Students need opportunities to unwind and stay active, and Cork City has a variety of recreational facilities to choose from. These include sports complexes, gyms, swimming pools, and parks. The city is also known for its vibrant nightlife, with many bars, clubs, and music venues offering entertainment options for students.
